Cinte Techtextil China confirmed for September 2020; exhibitor applications now open

17 Oct 2019

Asia’s leading international trade fair for the technical textiles and nonwovens industry returns to Shanghai in 2020 for its 14th edition. The fair is confirmed to take place from 2 – 4 September at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, its home for the last three editions. The previous fair in 2018 hosted some 485 exhibitors from 22 countries and regions, while there were 13,203 visits coming from 55 countries and regions.

“As the daughter show of Techtextil in Germany, and the second biggest in the series behind the Frankfurt fair, Cinte Techtextil China is highly regarded within the domestic market, a market that continues to go from strength to strength,” Ms Wendy Wen, Senior General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd explained. “China’s technical textiles and nonwovens market has been a star performer of late, and has been relatively immune to the macro influences affecting other parts of the country’s economy. This is due to a number of underlying factors, including booming infrastructure and construction sectors, technology upgrading in China’s various manufacturing industries, continued urbanisation and rising living standards, and increasing awareness of environmental protection to name a few.”

“As such, the scale of the fair and number of exhibitors & visitors have shown steady growth over the last few editions. We are optimistic the 2020 edition will once again provide quality business opportunities in this fast-growing market for the global industry’s leading players,” Ms Wen concluded.

Full industry coverage

Cinte Techtextil China’s product categories cover 12 application areas, which comprehensively span the full range of potential uses of modern textile technologies. These categories also span the entire industry, from upstream equipment and raw materials providers to finished fabrics, chemicals and other solutions. This full coverage of product groups and application areas ensures the fair is an effective business platform for the entire industry.

As in past editions, around one-third of exhibitors will be overseas suppliers. They will occupy the International Hall which also accommodates the European Zone, as well as a number of overseas country & region pavilions. Leading Chinese suppliers will cover two further halls.

Industry’s leading names utilise this business platform

The fair’s strong reputation and full industry coverage ensures the big names from various sectors participate. In the technology, machinery and accessories field, the likes of Andritz, Autefa Solutions, Bruckner, Dilo, Dornier, Groz-Beckert, Itema, Oerlikon and Trutzschler Nonwovens participated last edition. Fibre & yarn exhibitors included Barnet, Belrey Fibres, Cordenka, DuPont, Lenzing, Perlon, Sateri and more, while coated textiles providers such as Dakota, FPC, Sioen, Stahl and Trelleborg all participated. In the nonwovens category, 2018 exhibitors included Kobe, Mascot Nonwovens, Ziegler and more.

Feedback on the fair from these companies last time out was overwhelmingly positive. Mr Cristiano Capitanio, Sales Manager – Asia Pacific for Itema from Italy reported: “China is one of the most important markets for technical fabrics and has been growing every year. The visitor flow has been strong, so we’ve met new potential customers, while our existing buyers have also visited. Chinese buyers here are very professional, coming to our booth with specific questions and requirements. We feel an advantage here as the buyers are keen to source from European companies.”

Belrey Fibres’ Mr Thomas Dumortier, CEO of the first-time Belgium participant commented: “There is a lot of demand for our recycled fibres here in China. I am satisfied with the number of visitors, and we have collected many new contacts. This is our first participation here, so we have got to know what specific products the Chinese market is interested in. There is big potential from Chinese buyers for our products.”

Supporting Chinese associations ensure buyer diversity

This strong buyer profile reported by exhibitors is due in part to the wide range of Chinese supporters the fair has, covering a range of application areas to ensure a diverse cross-section of quality visitors attend the fair. These include:

•    Association for Spatial Structures, China Steel Construction Society (ASSC)
